ST: TEX vs TOR May 2nd - 5th

Tuesday, May 2, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
A.J. Griffin, RHP
Griffin held the Yankees to one run in eight innings in his last start. Opponents are hitting .189 off him, including .162 by right-handed hitters. He is 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA in four career starts against the Blue Jays.
vs
R.A. Dickey, RHP
Dickey finished with a 6.75 ERA in April, the highest mark of his career for that month. He has allowed at least 3 runs in every game but will try to turn things around against his former team. He is 2-2 with a 3.77 ERA in 7 career outings vs. Texas.
Texas Rangers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Tuesday, May 3, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Martin Perez, LHP
Perez allowed two runs in six innings in a 3-2 win over the Yankees on Wednesday. He has never pitched against the Blue Jays in the regular season but lost to them in Game 3 of the ALDS last October, allowing four runs in five innings.
vs
Marco Estrada, RHP
Estrada threw a season high 118 pitches during his last outing but will be making this start on an extra day of rest. He's 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA in two career starts against the Rangers. This will be his first outing vs. Texas since last year's ALDS.
Texas Rangers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Wednesday, May 4, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Colby Lewis, RHP
Lewis’ penchant for giving up homers could hurt him vs. Toronto's powerful lineup. He allowed his seventh homer, the most in the AL at the time, in his last start vs. the Angels. He lasted seven innings, and has gone at least six in every start.
vs
Aaron Sanchez, RHP
Sanchez has held the opposition to two earned runs or fewer in 7 of his last 8 starts dating back to 2015. He has never started a game vs. the Rangers, but he's still very familiar with them after pitching out of the bullpen in last year's ALDS.
Texas Rangers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Thursday, May 5, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Derek Holland, LHP
Last time out in a win over the Angels, Holland threw six innings for his third quality start in five outings this season. Holland didn't walk a batter in a start for the first time in his past 11 starts.
vs
J.A. Happ, LHP
Happ finished his last outing ranked 2nd in the AL with eight ground-ball double plays. The ability to induce grounders has been a pleasant surprise this season and one of the main reasons he has yet to allow more than three earned runs in a start.
A sweep here would be huge.

Well it's May, hopefully Dickey can start turning it around like he has done in the past.

So when Bautista gets hit with a pitch and Texas gets away with it am I allowed to scream about integrity or have we firmly established that intentionally throwing at players is good for the game while a bat flip is literally Satan incarnate?

Time to step up and win 3 or 4. Boston are getting hot.

“It sounded like an explosion, like a gunshot,” says catcher Chris Gimenez, who was behind the plate. “I still see it. I’ll never forget it. I’ll never forget where I set up, how the ball released out of [Dyson’s] hand, how it is tracking right into his barrel.
“It’s so loud and my jersey is literally vibrating,” he adds. “He’s standing there. My brain is telling me I’ve got to say something, I’ve got to do something, but I’m just frozen. You can’t believe everything that just transpired and that’s went down.”

Shulman is a great commentator. Also, Dickey has given up the most homers of all pitchers since 2013. Lol.

Dickey with an interesting throw that almost had Tulo taken out at 2nd.

I don't understand Buck's argument about players popping off the bag. If you don't stay on the bag, why should you be called safe. Don't slide like an idiot if you don't want to be called out.
You fix the problem with replay by not giving teams 5 minutes to call their own video guy to review the play before the challenge it.

Thole manages to not bunt on a strike and almost gets Pillar thrown out as he has to run back to 2nd.

That one to Jose wasn't really a strike though.

That wasn't a strike, but the umpire didn't even know that was a called 3rd strike initially. Just terrible stuff.

That third strike to tulo was right down the middle. Sigh
