Los Angeles Dodgers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Friday, May 6, 7:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Kenta Maeda, RHP

Maeda had his start delayed to Friday so he, instead of the southpaw Alex Wood, could face the Blue Jays and their right-handed sluggers. The Japanese rookie is coming off the first loss of his MLB career, a bump in an otherwise excellent start.

VS

Marcus Stroman, RHP

Stroman will face the Dodgers for the first time. He is coming off a career-best nine strikeouts against the Rays and used four pitches in his arsenal to reach that total. The sinker is his bread and butter, but his six-pitch mix has been key.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Saturday, May 7, 1:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Clayton Kershaw, LHP

Kershaw had easily the best start of what had already been a consistently great season so far, going the distance to shut out the Padres while striking out 14. His ERA is now down to 1.96, with his record at 3-1.

VS

R.A. Dickey, RHP

Dickey appeared to turn a corner during his last outing vs. Texas. He had a slow start to the year but allowed just one run over 6 1/3 frames en route to his second quality start. He has 64 QS since the start of '13, which is 5th in AL in that span.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Toronto Blue Jays
Sunday, May 8, 1:07 PM EDT , Rogers Centre
Ross Stripling, RHP

Stripling had another short start on Saturday vs. the Padres, allowing five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. The 26-year-old’s ERA has raised with every start this season and he hasn’t reached the sixth inning since April 14.

VS

Marco Estrada, RHP

Estrada continued to his strong start to the season by pitching six innings and allowing one run against Texas on Tuesday.

Kershaw vs Dicky should be fun

Damn, was hoping Kershaw would be going Sunday. Oh well, at least the Jays have a chance to win when I'm there.

Tough match-ups. Game 1 is a toss-up, game 2 favors LA and game 3 favors us. I'd be pretty happy with 2 of 3.

I was hoping we'd miss him completely!

Where is that "Stroman not striking guys out is a concern" thread again?

Do you have any reading comprehension?

Thew entire purpose of that thread was to point out that he was throwing WAY too many sinkers. Since then he has clearly changed his approach, hence the better performance and increased strikeouts....as expected. He's stopped spamming his pointless changeup repeatedly and is throwing considerably more sliders and curveballs; hence the increase in swinging strikes and strikeouts.

Beautiful double play after a few close pitches go against Stro!

Do you have eyes?

His slider usage is down below his season average for usage over his last two starts.

Hits have been scarce but the Jays have done well against Maeda I think. His night is going to be done after 6 innings. They drew 4 walks against a guy who had 6 walks in 32 innings coming into the game and they are going into the 7th inning with the lead.

I'll take that any day.

Stro dealing through 6 then gets hit hard after we get two runs. Makes sense.
