We're great at padding the ERA of average pitchers. We need some of these underachievers to break out.

Don't look now but Smoak is hitting .318 with a 928 OPS.

Where are all those clowns who thought we wasted $2.9m now!

Dickey's ERA down to 4.31. If that's your worst starter then starting pitching isn't your problem.

Thole just raised his OPS to .486. That's 100 point higher than Martin. Yikes.

Smoak for leadoff.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Great game. Maybe the most complete game by both hitters and batters for the season.

Edit: hitters and pitchers...

The Dickey whiners are going to have to take another week off. 3 good starts in a row.

the jays and raptors can never win on the same day... if theyre both playing sunday, i would rather the jays lose that one tbh. no one hurt me.

Fear not. The Jays and Raps have won games on the same night 3 times during the playoffs.

I wonder why Gibby moved him back into leadoff. Saunders seemed to be doing just fine. In all seriousness I'd rather ride the red-hot Smoak at leadoff right now over Pillar.

Let Pillar hack his way to a .300 batting average and .320-.330 OBP in the bottom third of the lineup. I like Pillar, but he won't be a leadoff hitter unless he becomes more disciplined at the plate.

Fun fact: the Jays have three regulars with an OPS over .900 right now, and that list doesn't include Bautista, Encarnacion, or Tulo.

At first it seemed that he was going to use Pillar against LHP and Saunders against RHP which would be a terrible idea. Who knows what goes on in Gibby's head. He does some pretty illogical things.

Like announcing a platoon at second base and still giving the majority of the at-bats to the .160 hitter over the .327 hitter?

Barney will likely revert at some point, but in the present he's a .327 hitter who should be getting 100% of the at-bats at second until Travis returns.

Nobody supports Goins more than Gibby, the number of AB's he's received over the past 4 seasons is ridiculous. He treats him like a son

Tuned into the pre game, the entire thing is dedicated to Jose Bautista (it's his 1000th game). They did a phone interview with JP Ricciardi (the GM who traded Robinzon Diaz to Pittsburgh for him), who was talking about how in Toronto they "didn't have a lot of money, and so internally guys had a lot of opportunities". Thought that was interesting.

He has been platooning them. They just face more righties than lefties.

Well this one just ended early. First bad start for a Estrada in a long time.

I had a feeling that the borderline strike 3 that was called a ball was going to come back to bite Estrada, but I wasn't expecting it to cost 4 runs.
