Jose Bautista - 1 game
Jesse Chavez - 3 games
John Gibbons - 3 games, fined $5000
Kevin Pillar - fined
Rougned Odor - 8 game suspension, $5000 fine. Appealing suspension already.
Elvis Andrus - 1 game suspension
Reportedly. Haven't been officially released by MLB just yet.

Why wasn't Bannister suspended? I would think he was the one who ordered Bush to hit Jose.

Hard slide, one would assume.

According to ESPN it was for his actions and post game comments.

Yeah, the hard slide and then saying he slid hard on purpose to send a message because he didn't appreciate being thrown at.

My feeling is Bautista was given a token one game suspension simply because he was the main Jay involved.

Jose got 1 game for assault. Both are pretty lenient. Imagine if either of them did that to a woman, they'd be gone til the All Star break.

And hopefully to jail.

It's forever been thus. Baseball takes a remarkably lenient approach to on-field fights; Martin Maldonado got just five a couple years back for sucker-punching Travis Snider, though it's an open question as to whether anyone would notice if Martin Maldonado was suspended at all.
I don't quite get it myself; I guess it's just that baseball values its rich tradition of people throwing things at each other's heads and getting punched in the face for nonsensical reasons, and thus doesn't want to get too heavy-handed on punishment.

$ 5000 fines?
is that enough?
For guys making millions per season or a few hundred thousand like some involved here, do they even care?
Should be $10 000 minimum.

what was the assault on bautistas part? he didnt do anything to odor... he slid hard to send a message he said, and he said he easily couldve hurt him but he chose not to... and if you look at the replay, yes, he made a hard slide, but he didnt even touch odor... he just made it so odor had to jump over him... wheres the assault there?

He deliberately broke a rule in an admitted attempt to get revenge. "I tried to send a message that I didn't appreciate getting hit". Yeah he could have done worse, but you can't just hit somebody and then say "I could have him him harder, but I chose not to". It's not to the same degree as Odor's punch, but not much is as bad as that. I have no problem with harsh penalties for players trying to get revenge or trying to injure another player, the same way they're punishing players 30+ games for allegedly pushing their girlfriends.

He slid right through Odor's entire lower body at full speed. He luckily didn't break any bones or snap any ligaments, but his intent was to injure and he went right through the guy. He even admitted it was revenge. Both of them should have long suspensions, but MLB has a history of being lenient with assault against men.

it's like a parking ticket. The mere act of showing up and you get it reduced. Ridiculous...can't believe what argument he made that had them reduce it.

As long as Bautista gets his reduced to zero then I'll allow it (as ridiculous as it may be).
