Can the Machado appeal get sorted out already? He's going to have played 7 games against us alone while the suspension has been pending. His appeal is slated for Tuesday, not sure how a player can control this process so much.

We're heating up.

I think this is our post all star period from last year where we can take the division and build a little cushion leading into the all star break

re: Machado...Apparently it has something to do with when the player gets to New York City..because the people who review it don't travel? It's something like that. It's ridiculous though. Why should the player get to choose when he is suspended? Shouldn't the punishment be at the league's behest?

I don't get it.

They should really be skype/teleconference hearings anyway. If you have an off-day and want to use it to fly to New York, fine, but these things should be dealt with within a week.

Even with Machado, we're still going to **** on those losers.

Hopefully Jose is good to go, but I could see him sitting out tonight. Maybe it's time we moved him to DH and brought up a proper RF, Pompey anyone? Or do we just ride Zeke's hot streak?

We should eat up Wright again, Gallardo had our number last year and I'm interested to see how Stro pitches against a tough lineup.

It's just ridiculous. It should have been revamped ages ago. I guess they have to wait until the player is either playing in NYC or has a day off to schedule the appeal. So Machado gets to play all 7 games against the Jays over a period of 10 days and 3 games against the Bosox in between. The Yankees and Mets also get the advantage of watching players start their suspensions right as they play those teams. I remember a couple of years ago one player got injured waiting for his appeal so he just dropped it.

EDIT: Now I'm confused. The Orioles had a day off the past Monday but actually have a game scheduled in Baltimore the coming Tuesday.

Doesn't that... Benefit the Yankees? :-?

We should get 2 of 3, which would be great.

Well, Bautista to the DL, was not expecting that. Sucks it happened on kind of a freak play during a blow out.

Well, that's going to hurt our offense badly. Must be a pretty significant injury to put him on the DL so quickly too. Maybe Tulo can actually hit a bit when he comes back this time?

I think it could be a blessing in disguise. He has been pretty awful in RF and, aside from racking up the walks, he has been having a down year at the plate. Maybe we can keep this solid play going while he's out then we can trade him for a middle of the rotation arm. One can dream...

Losing a .370 OBP hitter and replacing him with Ezequiel Carrera is not a blessing in disguise. It's terrible. Almost as bad as the idea of trading him for another JA Happ type.

Don't want to sound too harsh, but I don't think there are many posts on this forum I've disagreed with more than this one.
