Now Jays fans need to put Saunders in.

Surprised Sanchez didn't make it. Probably came down to him or Estrada and Sanchez going to have many more chances. If it had to be one I'm glad Estrada got the nod even if he can't/shouldn't actually get in the game.

Machado starting over JD? Disrespectful. Machado can't even hold JD's jock strap.

Ned Yost picked Brach and Harris over Osuna (not to mention Sanchez). Have I ever mentioned how I hate the Royals?

Watching Yost squirm in the dugout as we light up his trashcan team brings me so much pleasure. Him and Buck Showalter deserve to be locked in a room together

Without looking at advanced stats, both have sub 1.00 ERA's so I'm not sure I see the crime. Betances is worse and he's the 3rd Yankee. Kimbrel has been average at best in Boston, I don't get that pick at all especially with all the BoSox already there.
He also picked Edwin over Nelson Cruz. Edwin has inferior stats.
Either way, I hate that one manager chooses the reserves. At least the coaches vote in the NBA.

They've both hit 22 HR, but Edwin has driven in 20 more runs than Cruz and the difference in most other stats is marginal (.267/.358/.541 compared to .281/.365/.545). Seems like the right call to me.

RBI's are about opportunities though. Edwin's average with RISP is only .250 and his OPS is .787 so it's not like he's been particularly clutch. (Granted Cruz is slightly worse, I just don't like using RBI's as a favourable point for putting Edwin in the Allstar game)
It's close for sure. My point was that Yost could have easily chosen against the Jays here and he didn't.

Donaldson looks like he will repeat as MVP. Ortiz at DH and Trout is on a last place team.

There is half a baseball season that still needs to be played. No matter how good JD finishes, if the Jays miss the playoffs he likely doesn't win.

Did you expect Ned to pick the guy that threw at his team last year instead?

Isn't kluber the Indians 5th best starter this season?

He's had a couple of bad outings lately but he's got a 1.04 WHIP, high K:BB ratio and a solid 3.79 ERA. I mean Sanchez has been better and you could easily make a case for Bauer and Salazar too though for sure. They've all been pretty great. Yost probably just went with him because he's the veteran of the rotation.

Damn, feel bad for Estrada. Dude's 33. It's not like he has a ton of more chances ahead of him.

Good for Saunders, he's having a great year. I honestly expected him to be done as a player. He's slow as anything and it would be great if we found a way to transition him to 1B or DH at some point but he's been very good for us.
