ST: Tigers @ Blue Jays | July 7-10

Post#1 » by Lateral Quicks » Thu Jul 7, 2016 12:38 pm

The Jays ride their five game win streak into a four game series with the Tigers. With Estrada put on the DL, Hutchison starts us off against Verlander.

Game 1: Verlander (8-6, 4.11 ERA) vs Hutchison (1-0, 5.40 ERA)
Game 2: Pelfrey (2-7, 4.78 ERA) vs Happ (11-3, 3.54 ERA)
Game 3: Undetermined Scaredy Cat vs Sanchez (9-1, 2.94 ERA)
Game 4: Undetermined Scaredy Cat vs Dickey (6-9, 3.94 ERA)

Let's keep the momentum going into the break...
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

OT question: looking to buy a Donaldson jersey but it's hard to go see one in person in the Bay Area.
Does anyone have the royal blue and the grey one that says Toronto in the front? They both look awesome, wish the blue one said Toronto in the front. Any opinions? I know everyone's taste is different but figured I would ask

Hutch 1-0 with a 5.4 ERA.

Tigers have lost a lot of their starting pitching this year due to injuries, it would be a great series to capitalize on their shortcomings and come away with a series W.

Smoak is awful. We need a left handed bat at the deadline. I can't watch this guy swing about a foot over every breaking ball anymore.

Was just about to say the same thing. I think he bats about .100 with two outs and runners in scoring position.

I'd love to call up Pompey and put him in right. Let Edwin and Jose split the job at DH/1st.

Just give us one more clean inning Hutch. It's about all you can ask for. Still have a shot to steal this one with Verlander being fairly hittable today.

Hutch is terrible. Estrada please come back soon.

Smoak is terrible. Can't hit a breaking ball.

After JD double clutched he should have just tagged the guy going to 3rd.

HP ump costs us a run with that wrong call, possibly much more. Could be the difference in this one.

Not the first time we've had a run or a game lost because of the ump

8 runners stranded in 3 innings. Brutal. Can't blame the umpires if we lose by 1. They had plenty of chances to blow it open.

The right call in that inning completely changes the game situation. I'll still blame them.
