I've got tickets for Friday night and Tuesday vs San Diego. Should see Joey Bats suit up against the Padres.

Montgomery just got traded, so it's probably not him pitching.

Wade Leblanc is pitching game 3 now. I didn't realize Seattle had purchased his contract from Buffalo.

Boston now has the division lead, with the Jays just one game back. The Jays are actually one game ahead in the win column, but have three more losses as well.

Two of three is very doable here - so is a sweep.

It shows that boston's pitching staff besides price and wright is still a tire fire. Pomeranz will take a while to adjust to the american league way of hitting. They also don't have many rest days coming up. Unless they make a big move to address there pitching, I expect them to burn out real soon. Baltimore is starting to do their typical yearly regression they pull after the all star break and again there starting pitching besides there bull pen looks like trash.
With joey bats coming back I expect us to distance ourselves from the pack real soon.

I wouldn't write Pomeranz off based on 1 start, he did have a great first half. Also Porcello has been very strong lately, Price has been better and they added Zeigler to the pen. Their pitching staff if significantly better right now than it was at any point before the all star break and that's assuming they don't add someone else before the deadline.

He pitched in Oakland the past two seasons. Pomeranz will be fine, he's a solid #3.

I hope he is not fine, scared of the green monster and throwing meatballs to our team and everyone else, except the Orioles....

BTW, all the MLB insiders are circulating stuff on the Jays looking at Starting & BP arms. Should be an interesting trade deadline.

realistically what options do we have though? don't think they're planning on getting rid of any more prospects, nor do they wanna break up the team as currently constructed... idk how we make a significant pitching improvement at the deadline. ideally i would love to but i don't think its as realistic this time around.

If they're looking at players, they must have an idea of what they're looking for and what they'd be willing to give up. Whether that would be some lower end prospects or something on a bigger scale. But I wouldn't expect them to be making any blockbusters either.

Fun Fact, Kevin Pillar has a higher WAR than Tulo ( in 20 plus games though)

So Russell Martin apparently passed out in a sauna and hurt his knee. He's going to be out a few games according to Gibby.

And here comes Josh Thole....

If Jose can take bats in the minors, why can't he take bats in the majors? Even if he DH's? If you're ready to hit you're ready to hit.

It's about determining whether he's healthy enough to start playing outfield regularly in the majors again.
