We took 3 of 4 from the Astros at home and they're significantly better there than on the road. Let's get this done.
OriLOLes just got shut out in Oaktown to lose the series, we're 1 game ahead now let's go

Astros are struggling mightily. Need to win this series.
Side Note: How funny would it be if the jays signed Carlos Gomez before this series and his first game comes against his former team. Atkins sure loves adding players from the teams we're currently facing LOL

So glad we're back on top of the AL East. I know we still have a lot of time before the regular season ends, but it's good to be looking toward the bottom than chasing the top. We have to sweep the Astros.

The Lawrie/Donaldson trade deserves a mention. So does an aging Scott Rolan for Edwin.

I don't like to count the Edwin one because the Jays were pretty much forced to take Edwin and then he was predictably terrible and eventually released. Went to Oakland off waivers, was non-tendered, and then we signed him back.
The Donaldson trade is far and away the best trade in the past decade by the Jays followed closely by the Wells trade but a lot of that goodwill was undone with the subsequent Francisco for Napoli deal.

My personal favourite is Robinson Diaz for Jose Bautista

Those were all great trades but the best Jays trade of all time has to be Fred McGriff/Tony Fernandez for Robbie Alomar/Joe Carter.

Not even close. We gave up 2 all-star caliber players and received 1.5 all-star caliber players since Carter was one of the most overrated hitters of his generation and McGriff was the best hitter of the 4 going forward. It was only done to balance the Jays lineup.

Vernon Wells for Mike Napoli has gotta be up there, even though we flipped Napoli for some reason. Too bad the extra cash didn't lead to any success.

I think in terms of talent level, you could argue that it was a wash. Alomar and McGriff were both HOF worthy players, Fernandez may have had an edge on Carter but the following few years after the trade Carter did get back to his former self and put up good numbers. With the benefit of hindsight, they did help us get those back 2 back championships, and it's hard to argue with championships.

It really is crazy that the Jays have 3 of the top 5 SP ERA leaders in the AL. I thought they were in decent shape pitching wise coming into the season, but looking at the stats those guys have put up is still a bit surreal.

Fangraphs had our starting pitching ranked 26th in MLB before the season. I thought that was a bit low but there was really no reason to believe we were top 15-17.

And it's been the hitting that has been all over the place
The Jays are playing good right now, but if the bats can all get moving in the same direction at the same time look out
