Dioneer on his way back to Toronto. Bye Bye Thole 8-)

http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-bring-back-catcher-dioner-navarro-trade-white-sox

Toronto acquired catcher Dioner Navarro from the Chicago White Sox Friday evening in exchange for left-hander Colton Turner.
That's what she said.

Do they option him to Buffalo (with his consent) and then call him up on September 1st or would he have to still spend 10 days in the minors if they did that?

I'm guessing they don't option Thole with Dickey's next start on Sunday.

If not how does this work and who gets sent down? Loup again?

Yes. If you acquire someone before Aug 31 they are eligible.

Gibby will be pleased to see his best pure hitter from last year's team back with the squad.

More evidence that Dickey and Thole won't be on the playoff roster (if we make it that far). And there was much rejoicing.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Those **** pitches were high and outside.

I imagine they will send down a reliever until September and carry 3 catchers.
Good pick up.

With the injury issues that Bautista and Saunders (and Pillar + flu-like symptoms tonight) have had lately, I couldn't see that happening. There's really no point in keeping Loup around.

That and the Revere at-bat were the two most blatant examples of biased officiating that I've ever seen. Incredible how the strike zone completely changed that inning from the previous 8 innings. That combined with Fox advertising the Royals-Mets WS before the 9th inning even ended sure made me a believer of those anti-Canadian conspiracy theories.

Oh, and let's not forget Amish boy either.

I think this is a precursor to both Dickey and Thole being left off the playoff roster but I would still expect Thole to catch Dickey the rest of the regular season. Martin HATED catching Dickey which is why Thole was brought back.

Absolutely. It is a precursor to both of them being left off the playoff roster. Good move in bringing this guy back for the rest of the season.
