Our starting pitching is pretty much set. What are you guy's thoughts on who we could add this off season. Joey Batts most likely will not be back and hopefully we retain EE. Other than that who do you think we could add that's attainable via free agency or trade that would fit with the Jays because it doesn't seem like we are the long ball team we thought we would be.

Management will not trade top prospects, FA class is weak which makes the options very limited i would think ? Have to re-sign EE at the very least, just to help stay competitive in the short-term while we continue to develop our own?

EE is almost certainly gone. If they re-sign both Saunders and Jose we could still have a top 3-4 offense in the league. Lose all 3 and the offense will likely fall into the bottom half of the league in runs scored.

At this stage, anyone who can play the outfield.
Bautista and Saunders will be cheap, but neither can play a good outfield anymore. The infield and pitching is pretty much set (though an upgrade or two in the bullpen would be much appreciated, and bringing back EE so we don't have to watch Smoak hack it every day would be swell), but the current outlook for the outfield is abysmal. An outfield of Upton, Pillar, and Player X (Pompey? Carrera?) does not inspire confidence.

To be honest, the pitching scares me quite a bit.
The offense has been a dumpster fire of late, but the pitching has also trailed off (understandable, due to fatigue).
We still don't have a true "ace", but we have four #2s (Sanchez might be a #1, but not yet).
On the offensive side, I have no clue which direction to go. I'd keep Bautista or EE as a DH (don't have a preference for either, but if it is Bautista, NEVER let him play outfield). EE might make more sense since his defense at 1st isn't as bad as numbers indicate (eye test is okay)
Lately, it's been a struggle, and it seems like everybody's offense fell off a cliff at the same time.
I think we need more hit for average hitters, as opposed to focusing on power. We need hitters than can take walks and simply get on base. If EE comes back, him and Smoak can cover 1st base, I'm more worried about the corner outfield spots. I think both need to be replaced. Saunders started hot, but then came back down to earth. Bautista cannot play defense anymore.

I feel pretty good about pitching next year. Not many teams can pencil in next years rotation at this point. Ours is very solid. I expect Sanchez to get better. I also expect Estrada and Stroman to pitch better next year.
The offence is a major concern because it is likely that most returning players in the everyday lineup is on the decline from this season moving forward (exceptions being JD and Travis). I will be puking many a day if Upton and Smoak are both everyday players.
My personal wish list includes Chapman at the back of the bullpen.

You're right, the bullpen does need some work, but Chapman will cost a lot.
I really hope they fix the outfield.

The OF next year will consist of Pompey/Pillar/Upton with Zeke again being our 4th guy.
If Bautista has truly worked himself out of big money elsewhere, then he'll be back. But I have a feeling they will put all their eggs in the Edwin basket. Saunders is gone, will get too much money to keep for what he brings.

Going off of last season the Jays new FO looks to stay away from the long term contracts.
So i am going to say they will be interested in the short term deals unless it is a player that comes with control.
Jays as of now will need DH, 1B, OF, RP, SP depth and a backup catcher.

Alex Avila (30)
A.J. Ellis (36)
Jeff Mathis (34)
Dioner Navarro (33)

I like Reddick in RF.
Beltran, Saunders or Bautista as DH. EE will probably want too big of a deal for the Jays liking.
Pearce, Napoli or a comparable bat at 1B.
Love Navarro as our backup.
Any pretty much any relief help. One of the top guys would be nice but i doubt Shapiro and co make that jump.
I do say that i think payroll will rise.

Eric Thames is tempting. He would be a Huge Upside gamble at 1b. The guy has turned into a Beast. Physically he looks nothing like he used to. He is beefed up to the Jose Canseco level.
Maybe Jays have the uper hand since he already played here. It would be a great opportunity for him to sign in Toronto because there is a vacancy both at 1b and DH
