Would love to have him back but unless management is willing to spend $6M-$7M annually good luck.

This will be the best contract opportunity Cecil will have in his career, so I'm sure he's looking to get paid. It's gonna take pretty much full market value to sign him.

Blue Jays need solid LHP in the bullpen badly. Cecil is solid and a LHP.

If the Jays go out on the market for a solid LHP it's gonna cost market value anyway. So why not bring Cecil back instead. The known devil is better than the unknown devil. Jays know what they have in Cecil. A solid late inning arm who at times starts to dominate.

3 years, 5-6 million per.
That's market value. Do it.

If we can lock up Cecil at 5-6 million per over 3 that's a steal. I'd be willing to go 7 maybe 8 considering today's market.

He was God awful the first few months, beyond that he was pretty good.

That's how he plays every season. Takes him until August to start spinning the curveball properly.

Damn, there goes the longest serving Blue Jay we had. That's a tough role to fill, I wanted him back.

Matt Dermody just became the most reliable lefty arm in the bp we have....

On the major league club itself, that still remains Bautista. At least until he too signs elsewhere.

Four years is a lot for any reliever, especially one coming off a down year (was still good, but down for him). At that AAV I'm glad we stayed away. Sad to see Cecil go, though. In this day and age players rarely stay with one team for so long.

The Cards overpaid. You can't just outbid every team for every player.

It will be interesting to see how he reacts to Cardinal fans when he's going through his typical 1st half struggles.
