Skimmed through this one and honestly that may have been the most frustrating loss this season. Total offensive futility against mediocre pitching. Then you throw a **** home plate ump and yet another pick-off into the mix and you just get a real **** sandwich.

Why can't the Jays manufacture a run with a runner on second base and no outs? This team utterly fails at small ball. If the "big" bats are due up, the excuse is, "hey, we don't pay these guys to move runners and hit singles". What's the excuse now that we don't have any big bats?

That's exactly my point. The scenario was down 1 in the top of the 9th with runners on first and second and nobody out. 2 awful bunt attempts and a strike three from your utility player isn't acceptable in that situation. Either they need to practice these fundamental baseball skills or find some players with the inherent skills. Other than Carrera, this team demonstrates a shocking inability to play any sort of small ball. It's not luck that this team has had a horrid record for years in one run games.

I'm not talking just about bunting. It's the general inability to move a runner along, or come up with a 2 strike swing for contact when needed.

We were down by a run for several innings but the team just isn't setup for that one run. Jose must be pissed that every pitch is on the outside corner, but if he wants teams to stop pitching him there then maybe going oppo for a few hits wouldn't be such a bad idea. Perhaps the team will pitch him differently if he shows a willingness to hit it that way. It is grip and rip with a few of our hitters even if we need a single run.

Last couple years we were a home run hitting team that gets on base.When you face a pitcher like Kluber for example , who doesn't walk many batters and doesn't give up many homeruns, then the team has to find another way of scoring. Problem is we have been a low batting average team for awhile now. Kluber aside, we just lost to Jesse **** Chavez.

The Red Sox happen to be the worst home run hitting team right now, but because they have more well rounded hitters they have been able to get by without Ortiz pretty well so far.
