Taking the most favourable start date, yeah. But even May overall was some distance above his K rate from 2010-2015.

That's because he struck out a ridiculous amount early in the month -- 16 times in the first nine games. As I said, he seems to have fixed it.

'Fixed' implies permanent, though. Last season, he struck out 9 times in 21 games around the same time of year...he then K'd 23 times in his next 20 and remained above a strikeout a game for the remainder of the season. There'll be peaks and valleys, but the trendline is fairly clear.

Well, he's not going to strike out less than 9% of the time like he has in his last 19 games(before tonight). But the fact he went through a rough patch to start the year, doesn't necessarily mean much, either.

And he struck out twice vs Sabathia tonight, but his career vs Sabathia has been dreadful. So that doesn't mean much.
