That strike 1 was not even close. What was the ump looking at?

That was rather similar to Game 6 vs the Royals.

Jose 3 run jack, the W, and an Odor face plant. Great game.

Fangraphs is the most bullish...538 has it at 22%, Baseball Prospectus had us at 12.4% prior to today. Mostly reflects their prediction systems: Fangraphs' projections liked us much more entering the year, PECOTA didn't.

In any event, it speaks to how big a hole we dug that we've gone 17-9 in the past four weeks and we're still at pretty low odds to make the Wild Card, and extreme longshots to win the division and avoid the coin flip game.

Right now, we're 9-16 against the AL East, and 14-10 against everyone else. Nearly 30% of our remaining schedule is against just the Red Sox and Yankees...we need to do better in those games, or we're going to come up well short.

I was at the game today, and all i have to say it- that it is a pleasure to watch Goins play defence. Not a pleasure watching him hit all the time, but the guy is an incredible defender. Hoping they can sweep the Rangers tomorrow.

It all makes sense now. I think there's a Johnny Cash song about this.

Today's lineup...

Pillar
Donaldson
Bautista
Morales
Smoak
Martin
Tulo
Travis
Coghlan

I get that Travis is doing well and you don't want to mess with his streak, but at some point you have to move the team's hottest hitter a bit higher up the lineup imo.

Call me crazy but i like the fact with have a good hitter at the bottom of the lineup. Balances the lineup and makes it even more formidable.

When Jose was on second i was wishing he would turn around and clock Odor in the face and then kick him a little when he is down

I think I would rather have good hitters get more plate appearances by being at the top of the order.

Typically you score more runs by bunching your best hitters together as getting them as many AB's as possible rather than spreading them out.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

That's the theory anyways....

But I think it's easier for a guy like Gibby to place Travis there versus putting Tulo/Martin there. Egos exist and Travis won't say anything as a 2nd year guy.

Either way it was nice to see that kind of lineup back out there, if Pearce get's healthy I like the look of him near the bottom as well.
That's what she said.
