I'm not sure what's funny about it. To this point Thames is having a better season with a better contract and even has superior clutch stats to Morales. Pretty simple.

Thames.
HiS OPS is 1000 and his OBP over 400 so I would imagine they're still quite good. With his contract almost 1/2 that of Morales, he would be a massive bargain with an 800 OPS.
No, seriously, look at his stats vs the Reds. 8 homers, an OPS of like 2.000.

...unless, that would lead to losing. Hmm. Difficult decision here.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

We need Luke Maile to balance the line up.

Ya I saw that. But it's not like those games don't count and he still has an 820 ops against the rest of MLB. He's having a great season regardless.

The incredible part of this number is that JD and Tulo barely played all month.

What are his numbers if you take out the Reds?
7 games vs CIN: 11/25 (8 HR, 13 RBI), .576 OBP, 1.400 SLG
other 39 games: 33/133 (5 HR, 13 RBI), .379 OBP, .444 SLG
I'm getting the suspicious feeling that the Reds aren't very good...

Subtract a 1-6 against Milwaukee and they have a winning record.

The Reds would honestly be fine if they had one or two competent starting pitchers. All of them this year have been absolute dumpster fires. Heck, their #1 and #2 on their staff are the geriatric versions of Scott Feldman and Bronson Arroyo. Beyond that, their bullpen is quite solid, and their offense is decent since they've got a speedster (Hamilton), two high-average hitters with power potential in Cozart and Votto, and two sluggers in Duvall and Schebler, along with some other pieces. If they can dig into their farm and find some SP's that work, or trade for someone who winds up on the market for much cheaper than expected, they may make a decent run if all falls into place for them.

The Reds are missing a lot more than 2 starting pitchers. They're basically missing an entire MLB calibre rotation while also needing Zack Cozart to continue hitting like an MVP candidate. Actually, half of their lineup is having a career-year offensively so far and has had perfect health. It only goes down from here.

Highest position player WAR total and lowest pitcher WAR total in the majors.

All anyone needs to know is that the Reds pitcher with the highest WAR is Scott Feldman
