Hopefully Travis doesn't miss too many games. I doubt we see him in this series though.

Andrew Triggs was so good for my fantasy baseball team early on but he's been so **** lately. Glad he gets a breather and doesn't have to face the unruly Justin Smoak who would send him into shambles.

Anyway, hopefully this is a W. Concerned about Happ vs. some of their hitters, they've got serious power between Khris Davis and Yonder Alonso. We need Estrada to not give up his usual 3 first-inning runs.

Travis said he was experiencing significant pain in his hand at the time and that he feared the worst.

“I thought I broke it. It was really scary,” Travis said, his hand covered in a thick, white wrap. “My hand was throbbing so bad. I couldn’t really open or close it.”

Travis received thorough treatment on the hand after the X-rays and will continue to be evaluated. Whether or not he can play Monday night when Toronto opens a three-game series in Oakland will depend on how much residual pain Travis experiences and how effectively the Blue Jays are able to decrease his swelling.

Losing Travis for an extended period of time would be a significant blow to the Blue Jays and demoralizing for the 26-year-old who has been one of the team’s hottest hitters over the last several weeks. After suffering through a deep slump early this season, Travis put up a torrential May, batting .364/.373/.646 over 103 plate appearances that month, with 20 extra-base hits.

After going 1-for-2 in Sunday’s game, Travis is now batting .259/.291/.438 on the season with an American League-best 18 doubles.

“It’s not broken—that’s great news,” Travis said. “I’m hoping I wake up tomorrow feeling good. That’s my goal. But at the same time, you’ve got to be a little bit realistic.

“Staying healthy is the biggest thing. It’s something that I’ve been talking about for a long time. But it’s not broken, so I can smile now.”

So lucky that it wasn't a fracture. Hopefully the swelling goes down soon and Travis is back in a couple of games.

Hate to see Travis out, but I'm looking forward to seeing Goins out there.

If they add Beliveau someone is getting DFA'd. Who might that be? Howell?

Maybe. But also maybe the 40 year old who gave up 4 HR in less than an inning the other day.

I believe they only have 39 on the 40 man roster... So Beliveau can be added without taking anyone off. And knowing the Jays he probably is coming up for an injury... maybe Travis or someone else goes on the DL and thats how he gets on the 25 man.

Even with his legendary streakiness, Bautista is finding new and exciting way to swing wildly from hitting god to Ryan Goins' depth-perception-inhibited cousin. After hitting .388/.468/.776 while striking out less than 10% of the time for 19 games, he's 1 for 18 with 8 Ks and a walk.

One day, he'll have six weeks of steady, above-average hitting, and it will mean that the end is nigh.

He's had several controversial strike outs in this stretch, though. At least four.

Fringe calls don't really explain the swinging and missing. Small sample, obviously, but in the Yankees series his whiff rate was 22.2%. It may last a week, it may last six, but he was awfully far away from a number of pitches.
