Gibby isn't the reason we're struggling this season. He didn't put Maile on the roster. He's not swinging the bats or throwing the ball. This simply isn't a very good team.

Not saying Gibby is the reason we're struggling (though I've never thought he's a good manager). But in this instance, if he was serious about winning the game, there was no good reason to keep Martin on the bench in the 7th in a one run game. Particular with a much better backup on the way that could play today and tomorrow if need be.

This exactly. No reason to keep Martin on the bench if you are serious about winning a game.

Tough game today, Happ screwed us over. Hopefully we bounce back tomorrow.

Maybe, but he's upping that trade value. We need a couple good starts from Marco, too.

Smoak is showing zero signs of slowing down, guy may well be having that breakout season in his age 29-30 season that Jose & Edwin had.

Or...baseball.
That's what she said.

Well done Estrada. Every loss counts; let's put all of this idiotic "we're adding, not subtracting" talk to rest.

But we can't trade him for anything good if he keeps sucking.

Yeah too bad they didn't pull him after 4 innings. May have been the start of a good streak of innings. At one point he would have gotten us a decent prospect/good return, now I'm not even sure we'll get much.

And of course, when it looks like it's time roll out the tank, we walk out of Yankee Stadium with a series win. But Estrada still has a crappy start so his value remains in the gutter. A classic Blue Jays moment, this.

Hopefully Osuna's saves are attracting attention though and some team ponies up for him.

Osuna should have made the All Star Game over Betances this year. 8.56 walks per 9 innings?

If Osuna was pitching for the Yankees, he'd be treated like the second coming of Mariano Rivera by Yankee fans and the media. Would be getting all-star appearances and even Cy Young votes every year lol.

Worst case scenario. A win and Estrada continues to bury his trade value.

A bunch of 2-1 losses would be fine.

It's getting 2-1 losses that boost our hitters' stock that is the tricky part. I mean, we could strand two batters any inning, perhaps? Could get unlucky and drive in a couple, though.

It'd be easier if our bullpen was a tire fire. Then we could have good starting pitching, good hitting, and lose. The Rangers really have this whole thing figured out.
