ST: A No-Man's-Land Team @ A Team Still Not Sure What It's Doing | August 11-13
A tank vs. a ship. Neat.
We're about 40 minutes from first pitch and we had no ST, I need to make up for this anomaly of a series earlier in the week. Not sure why the Yankees looked like the Jays with RISP for two games last series, but in my 6 games on this ST run, they've alternated losses and wins. We should be due for two losses this series. I'm prepared for the consequences. JaysRule, Schad and I will figure something out to maximize the ST tank effort and get a solid pattern going that ensures the losing mojo is there at a constant.
Game 1 - 7:07PM
Jameson Taillon (6-5, 4.60) vs. Marcus Stroman (10-5, 3.17)
Game 2- 1:07PM
Trevor Williams (5-4, 4.17) vs. Chris Rowley
Game 3 - 1:07PM
Chad Kuhl (5-7, 4.53) vs. JA Happ (5-8, 3.77)

Pillar such a hacker. No need to throw him a strike

Only fitting that we bring our own ship out against the Pirates' ship.

Looks like Schad's concerns over Refsnyder at 2B were well-founded.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

After tonight Refsnyder's career fielding % at 2B will barely be above .900 (!)
Shapiro/Atkins were brought in to put the Jays on a save Rogers money treadmill and they are delivering.

Quality ABs from Pillar and Refsnyder there.

Maybe Refsnyder can go for some kind of triple crown tonight with 3 LOB, 3K, 3E.
Pillar's swing has always been pretty bad and recently I saw him swing at a pitch that landed in the middle of the opposite batter's box

Refsnyder 4 Ks and 2 errors. He single-handedly lost them the game.
Also, he looks totally disinterested out there - almost like he doesn't want to be playing.

Is Barney injured? Why is Refsnyder playing, unless the tank is real? Singlehandedly cost them the game.

I am now on the Tank bandwagon. Hoping Refsnyder is the second baseman the rest of the year. Well done. Holding out hope that when the season is over- the Jays will get to pick in the top 5 in the draft next year.

Doubt he's disinterested...he's playing for his career here. He simply isn't a competent second baseman.

**** your asterisk.

What if Refsnyder was sent by the Yankees to sabotage us? I wouldn't put it past them.

Wouldn't this be doing the Jays a favour? We don't need a .500-.520 pace finish from this team. They sure as hell aren't going to play at the .700 winning pace they likely need to make the playoffs.
I hated Refsnyder 2 games into his tenure here but at this point he should play 2b every day.

Martin to the DL, Ohlman up. Guess that means lots of work for Danny Jansen in Buffalo.
