Nice of TJ House to take the night off from singing for his bluegrass funk The Flaming Lips cover band to pitch tonight.

Landmark album:

In other news, Molitor more than comfortable to allow this kid to make his MLB debut against our Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth…

The Jays should rest guys like Donaldson, Osuna, Goins, Pillar, Smoak, etc., as much as possible for the rest of the year. Cannot have these guys driving in runs and leading this team to meaningless wins. The goal should be to lose as much as possible, and get a top 5 pick in next year's draft. Good outcome tonight.

Sucks that its come to the point where we're using HangTime's powers for tanking threads along with the Salmons Curse, but we need this series against the Twins. A sweep here would be great heading into the series against the Red Sox where we can officially close the coffin on this team.

In other news, referencing The Flaming Lips both dates me horribly while still being utterly incomprehensible to the other half of the Jays fan base.

This is not the NBA. Even top 5 picks aren't sure things.

Top 5 picks are not sure things in any sport, even the NBA. I'd much rather have a Top 5 pick than a Top 10-12 pick though (which is where we're projected to land if we maintain our current pace of wins/losses), especially in the MLB where the Top 5 picks have higher pools that you can siphon off to use later in the draft as well. In a season where it's quite obvious that this team is too flawed to be considered a contender, it's time to put on a focus on next year. That starts with using the rest of this season to evaluate young talent and secure as high a draft position as possible.

I think a lot of guys were unsure what to do for nicknames being the first time around. Next year should be much imprOved IMO.

Biagini is a joke - All the base runners through 3 innings is embarrassing

They've ruined Biagini by moving him into the rotation.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

What a crappy season. Today's highlight was a Nori Aoki home run. Brutal.

lol at letting Buxton hit three homers.

Great series, shame about not getting the sweep though. We'll need a few of those to truly make up ground.

If nothing else, we're cementing our current position...there's a sizable gap opening between ourselves in 10th and most of the chase pack. 8th - 12th looks to be our likely landing spot unless we're utterly abject or go on a typically meaningless winning streak late.

Remarkably, the Jays have selected in the top 10 only three times since 1998: Ricky Romero (6th), Phil Bickford (10th) and Jeff Hoffman (9th).

Knowing the Jays they'll go on a run with 2 weeks left in the season and take themselves out of the top 10 lol.

Jose's OPS has now dipped below .700 for the season.

I'm so glad JP finally took him out of the leadoff spot, he's far more suited for cleanup..........

Can we stop experimenting with Joe Biagini as a starter? He's much better suited as an elite level reliever, like a 7th or 8th inning guy. vs a mediocre to poor starter.
