That Jones pitch was gone right off the bat. Knew it from the second it left.

You're no Tank God Johan, but it appears you'll do.

Who wants to re-sign Marco?

Kendrys with 3 HR and 7 RBI definitely needs to have the keys to the tank taken away from him tonight.

Don't hit and drive.

Just so that I have this for reference, and can find out what that sort of night does for one's seasonal line: Morales entered today at -0.6 fWAR and -10.6 runs above average.

Osuna's average fastball velocity by month:

Oct 2016: 96.7
Apr 2017: 95.1
May 2017: 95.5
June 2017: 95.8
July 2017: 94.3
Aug 2017: 93.7

Naturally, this is the sort of trendline that makes you feel comfortable bringing him in for a four-out save on a team that is 11 games below .500 on the last day of August.

A hot month from Kendrys could be helpful in moving him in the off-season. This game goes a long way towards that.

It'd need to be his version of Mike Stanton's July. He's been that bad to date, despite the dingers.

Could end up with a higher ops than Pearce but people will be fine with Pearce leading off and demand morales is traded

Doesnt matter how bad the team is. Beating the O's is always a great thing.

I knew it was a bad idea for me to make the ST. I've been infected with Royals level winneryness this season.

What do you guys think of the callups? I would have liked to see Jansen called up as he is killing it right now.

There is a second wave of callups to be announced, but it may be they prefer not starting the clock on his service time right now. I'm not sure why they think they owe Michael Saunders a look, yes he's been decent but not spectacular at Buffalo, still is a mediocre outfielder, I can only imagine they want to re-sign him for Buffalo next season as insurance.

Not particularly excited to see Saunders and Maile again, though I understand both moves.

The fact that Morales is almost as good a hitter a guy who can still reasonably play corner outfield and run the bases is not exactly a mark in his favour. He's terrible at literally everything except that one talent which is barely even league average. People want him gone for good reason.

Definitely should have traded him in July.

Yup, this is baseball. Being bad and being the worst isn't so outrageously different. And the team is going to win some games down the stretch no matter how bad they are. Beating the Os and putting that 2nd wild card spot further out of reach for them is something I can take joy in no matter what.
