April 24-26: Red Hots @ Cool Blues

Post#1 » by dagger » Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:41 pm

April 24, 7.07 pm. Some Rogers channel (you'll find one with the game)
Rick Porcello (4-0, 1.40 ERA) vs Jay Happ (3-1, 4.50 ERA)

April 25, 7.07 pm. Some Rogers channel
Eduardo Rodriguez (2-0, 3.45 ERA) vs Aaron Sanchez (1-2, 3.86 ERA)

April 26, 7.07 pm. Some Rogers channel - will anyone watch with the Leafs in Game 7 and Raptors vs Wiz?
Chris Sale (1-1, 1.86 ERA) vs Marco Estrada, (1-1 5.32 ERA)

Let's just say that this series will say a lot about the Jays talent level. A win or two here would suggest competitiveness. A sweep by the Sox, on the other hand, would be sobering.

Need our rotation to start pitching better. They're supposed to be the strength of the team.

Sanchez has been goodish, Garcia, Happ have been mediocre, Estrada has been terrible and Stroman absolutely awful. So yea that rotation needs to perform a lot better

Happ has been mostly fine beyond the home runs. Sanchez is another matter...he's getting very, very lucky, because his peripherals are atrocious. His SIERA is bottom five in the league at the moment.

Nobody is going to watch game 3 because of the reason's you mentioned but also because Chris Sale is going to pitch a near perfect game vs. us

Porcello is off to the best start of his career. Throwing less fastballs and more sliders and changeups. Hasn't given up a homerun and has only 1 walk in 25.2 innings pitched.

It feels as if Justin Smoak's season of his life never happened.

As he's only good in even years, they really ought to ship him to San Francisco.

It certainly does feel that way. Taking good pitches and swinging at bad...just like the old days.

If Gurriel can play SS - and the jury is still very much out - it may be Diaz going to the minors when Donaldson returns. Diaz is ice cold.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Dave Dombrowski thinking about how he can trade the rest of his prospects for expensive veterans.

They are way way over the tax threshold now at 234 mil. How high can they go?
