22% of Grichuk's hits on the season have occurred in his last two plate appearances.

Hey schad, do you think the Red Sox are regretting calling up Rafael Devers so early? That guy hasn’t been very good.

Saw a comment from a Red Sox fan the other day calling him Sandoval 2.0

Did you see their motivational tool?

He still hits the ball really hard, when he hits it. Whether they regret it, I don't know; he's the sort of aggressive hitter that can have a steep learning curve, and some time in AAA might have smoothed things out a little before his exposure to the majors. His zone control is really bad at the moment, though, and his lack of experience against good breaking stuff is evident. Probably gets it together, but I'm increasingly dubious about skipping prospects over AAA; they don't all need a year there, but a couple months to get a feel for spin seems like a good idea for all but the most refined hitters in an era where even the scrubs pull more RPMs than an F1 car.

I think he’s still going to be a good player. It just feels like they may have rushed him for no reason.

It was fairly understandable, given that they had a need at 3B, but he definitely has work to do. Going back to last year, after his fast start he has an OPS in the .660s in a shade under 400 PAs, with a K rate around 26%. Decent chance they'd send him down to AAA for a refresher course, but they don't have a lot of good options at the moment.

Finally!

Barnes has been stinking up the joint as of late. We need him to pitch better so we can trade him for a prospect or two.

Ill take him for Donaldson if they need a 3B!
