Mike Trout is on a 150 game pace of an fWAR of 12.8. Would be the 5th highest single season WAR by a position player of all time -- Babe Ruth has the top four.

All the more impressive is that he only had 7 hits and 5 walks through his first 9 games of the year (43 PAs), but he still finished Mar/Apr with a 1.039 OPS. His OPS has improved every month so far this year - currently sitting at a cool 1.330 through June. He's doing to MLB what Vlad was doing to AA baseball.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Wait, why is Jonah Keri asking if the Jays should be buyers for MLB controllable pitching? WTF?

No idea. Getting young, controllable pitchers is never a bad thing, but throwing a huge pile of assets at JDG to make a run in 2019 would be the height of insanity.

It’s always weird seeing Scott Boras right behind home in Anaheim.

That's exactly what it looked like. He was looking at his hand after the pitch and there is no point messing around with that after what happened last year,

Beats me. Historically Shapiro/Atkins rarely pay for pitching. They are the ones who develop it. I expect a lot of our future pieces come from within.
