June 25-27: Toronto at Houston - Boy do we have a problem

Post#1 » by dagger » Mon Jun 25, 2018 12:47 am

Okay, the Astros may be the best team in baseball, but we have Jay Happ. Unfortunately, cloning him is not yet an option. A big moral victory would be Happ beating Verlander. A moral victory for our trade thread. You'll note on the updated pitching matchups we didn't luck out, unless you consider missing Gerrit Cole on Monday and picking up Dallas Keuchel on Wednesday is a positive.

Monday, June 25, 8:10 pm EDT
Jay Happ (9-3, 3.56 ERA) vs Justin Verdlander (9-2, 1.60 ERA)

Tuesday, June 25, 8:10 pm EDT
Ryan Borucki (0-0, --- ERA) vs Charlie Morton (9-1, 2.74 ERA)

Wednesday, June 26, 2:10 pm EDT
Marco Estrada (4-7. 4.48 ERA) vs Dallas Keuchel (4-8, 3.90 ERA)
2019 will never be forgotten because FLAGS FLY FOREVER

Borucki gets thrown into the deep end. I'd be pleased with 5 innings of 3 run ball or better.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Man, I did not expect Verlander to just turn back the clock like this. He's been a different pitcher ever since he got traded.

'Dead arm' lasted 3 weeks, 'calf tightness' going on 4 weeks. It probably wasn't just dead arm or calf tightness.

yup. must be something else too. maybe we can trade him back to the A's. kind of feel bad for the guy. want him to come back and get on a role so we can get something decent for him a trade.

what about Tulo? is he coming back this year?

Grichuk is hitting .189 yet now has a higher OPS than Pillar.

First start out of 17 that Verlander has allowed more than 3 earned runs.

Without a doubt. Pearce too.
