Ah folks, it's basically all over except the losing now.
Jays head out on the road for 10 games, Sox, A's and Mariners. Well, at least playing the woeful Sox will mean the Jays' ineptitude will be matched. The playing field is level!
No starter scheduled yet to replace Jay Happ. Will update
Friday, July 27, 8:10 pm EDT
Marcus Stroman (3-7, 5.42 ERA) vs Reynaldo Lopez (4-8, 4.13 ERA)
Saturday, July 28, 7:10pm EDT
TBA
Sunday, July 29, 2:10 pm EDT
Luis Santos (0-1, 8.71 ERA) vs Carlos Rodon (3-3, 3.38 ERA)

I know Schad isn’t a big Gurriel fan, but he seems pretty good to me.

Have to think Solarte or someone gets traded, with all these infielders.

First time watching a game in a few weeks and back to back homers followed by the white sox manager getting tossed. nice

Let's all just pretend Gurriel will be a star alongside Vlad, Bichette and Jansen.

What’s the deal with Tulo? I’m just assuming at this point that he’s out for the season.

If Gurriel turned into a 20-30HR hitter, that would be a heck of a thing.

He now has more HR than his brother in 224 less PA.

Question is whether he'll be able to adjust when he just starts to get straight junkballed. Vast majority of his damage has been off fastballs, and he already loves to chase...a lot of hitters with his profile start off hot, and then pitchers start throwing that first-pitch breaking ball with some consistency.

LOL, WTF was that at bat? Did he actually walk but no one realize it? And then he ended up with a double.

I don’t trust this guy with this lead.

Gurriel was a very good hitter in Cuba at a very young age and there wasn't a huge sample size at any level in the minors over the past 2 seasons since he started (only 110 games played in total). It's quite possible that he might actually end up being a good hitter. Guess we'll see, though. At least there might be something interesting to watch over the next few months.

The fact that he’s doing this well in the majors with so little experience, is pretty encouaging. Remember, he didn’t play at all in 2016 after he defected. And as you said, over the past two years he only had 110 games minor league experience. And he was battling injuries all last year.
