According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, the Blue Jays "seem destined" to move on from manager John Gibbons after the season.
Gibbons led Toronto to consecutive playoff appearances in 2015 and 2016 but now the Jays are moving toward a rebuild and they'll likely begin that transition with a new manager. Including his previous stint with the team, Gibbons has served 11 years as Toronto's skipper. Dusty Baker, John Farrell, Joe Girardi and Mike Matheny would be among the top candidates to replace Gibbons, assuming the Jays move on from him this offseason. Aug 7 - 9:01 AM
Sounds like he will be gone (whether mutual or fired) soon.
