I can't wait to see him in a Blue Jays uniform. He's going to be a special player!

Getting to the Majors at a young age like he will next season likely, means his contract clock will also start early. Meaning he will be VERY VERY expensive as he enters his Prime. Considering how much guys like Harper and Machado are rumored to be priced at soon, it could be very expensive for the Jays

Can the Jays or will they afford say a $400 million contract. If it comes down to that?

I doubt he signs a cheaper guaranteed money deal like Trout. That guy lost a lot of money doing so.

We won't have to worry about paying him anything like that until like 2026.

Guys like this do not take long to reach their prime. Physically, athletes are at their prime pretty early. Look at NFL running backs, big NBA prospects. Athleticism peaks early. It's the approach that takes time to develop, especially in baseball. Elite prospects like Trout, Harper, Machado, Correa - they hit their prime very early, well before they even hit arbitration. They start out almost immediately at their peak value. I think it's unlikely that Vladdy's age 27 season is significantly better than his age 20 season. And there's no way to leave him down another year anyway, so it's not something to worry about.

MLB Network brought in some Sabermetricians to discuss the top third basemen in the game and they all had Vladdy in their top 10 (despite never having played in the majors). Interesting video to watch.

Quick question: When are Vlad and Bo expected to be called up?

Nobody knows as nothing has been announced.

Their is a large April crowd but I believe he gets called up in June as he works on things along side of hitting

I'd be surprised if Vlad wasn't in the majors by early May, barring injury.

Bo's likely on a slower path; his numbers were quite good for a 20 year old middle infielder in AA, but that's some distance from being a lock to produce from day one. Could be midseason if he sets the world alight, wouldn't be surprising if he's called up in 2020.
