We can now close the book on the Marlins trade...

You can see how the game was played

Tulo wasn't going to accept a subordinate role or play another position for the Blue Jays. That was his way to force his way to another team and situation

This feels a lot like the Alonzo Mourning case

What a **** trade. The sad part is we didn't even get one year of superstar tulowitzki... Even the year we got him he declined massively. It's sad.

Even if Tulo was willing to play a different position in Toronto, why would we want him? We have better/younger options at 2b/3b, are rebuilding, and Tulo hasn’t played in two years.

Tulo is also a FA now. He can’t demand anything anymore. In Toronto he had a full no trade. The jays were trapped and he knew it.

AA knew what he was doing when he left after 2015.

He always hated it here. Right from Day1. How long did we hear about him being emotionally crushed by the trade. All we wanted for him to to was hit, and all he wanted to do was to tell anyone about how hard it was to be traded to a new situation... boo hoo hoo

Actually I really hope he signs somewhere in the AL. Skydome will be sold out just for he chance to rip on him.

watch him play like a superstar.

I agree, but we still got still played by him. Dude basically played half a season in 2017, and missed the rest with injury. Sat around all offseason, and decided to get 2018 season ending surgery in the new year. This should be a mark against AA. But of course the casuals are rushing to blame Shapiro and Atkins for this.

Yep, without Tulo that playoff push doesn't happen. Reyes was so bad it was to the point he was throwing games away with his defense once or twice a week. It certainly wasn't worth the $90M we'll end up paying him, but he did make a vital contribution those few months.

Hard to believe no team was willing to take a flyer on a guy with Tulo's track record if they could get him for a couple million a year. Word around the league must be that he's 100% done.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

That positively reeks. I always thought Tulo was an ****, and this confirms it.

Overall tenure has Tulowitzki at 3.1 fwar as a Blue Jay , that doesn't sound very good and just to compare Trevor Story has been worth 9.5 fwar since they moved on from Tulo.

Heh, before Jose Reyes' abysmal 2018, he was outproducing Tulo post-trade by 3.2 fWAR to 3.1.

He was already in decline when we got him, owing largely to his injury problems. Trading for a shortstop in his 30s who had missed 40% of his team's games over the previous 3.5+ seasons was just an awful long-term idea, but AA wasn't looking long-term.

For 40 mil I doubt he has to masterbate,
