It did happen rather quickly, he was a 30 year old superstar on a HOF path right up to the point the Jays acquired him. He was also coming off his best season, .340 with a 170 OPS+.
Kudos to the Rockies for trading him at the perfect moment.

Great player?? surely not in Toronto. Coors Field helped him in Colorado. Injuries hurt him, but for the amount of money and injuries this guy has made over his career he is surely overrated.
IF you think he was anything less than a great player in Colorado, I don't know what to say. Park effect or not, he was on a HOF path up to the moment the Jays acquired him. A two-way SS with power. Injuries derailed his career, not switching ballparks. He wasn't fully healthy during 2015 when the Jays first acquired him and it only got worse from there.
It's unfortunate that Jay's fans never got to see Tulo at his peak but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

He was also a 30 year old superstar in the midst of a bad season when we traded for him, with a rich history of lower body injuries...they definitely chose the right moment, but the warning signs were there from the Jays' perspective.

True, I'm not sure it was really a bad season as much as a down half season at that moment in time. It was just a half season removed from his career year.
Obviously Colorado decided that it was the beginning of the end, AA decided that it was the window needed to acquire a superstar level SS and one of those 2 parties ended up being dead wrong. Or worse than dead wrong since Tulo barely played.

Yeah, as with a lot of AA's moves, I suspect that one fell into the category of "good for this year/maybe next, someone else's problem thereafter". Tulo was going to break down; guys with the sorts of chronic injuries he had almost always do. But by that point, I suspect that AA was already considering his options, given that our search for a new president was well underway.

Tulo trade sparked our win streak and lead to most exciting run since World Series. AA knew what he was doing. Terrible long term, but exactly what was expected.

Where is the best place to see discussion about the Jays?
It doesn't seem to be RealGM. Not much activity here.
Is it Reddit? Someplace else?

This forum is quality over quantity . I lurk more than I post. I love it here. Kudos to schad. Well moderated. I wish it would merge with prosportsdaily.com messageboard. Would create interesting contrarian viewpoints. Reddit is fine if simplistic. Blue jays messageboard.com is toxic

Well, he did give me half the information I asked for.
Apparently the active Jays board is somewhere else.
Now if I can just somehow get him to tell me where that is.
Best to ask him on a day when he's not so cranky.

"Hey this place sucks, where else should I go?" FOH. Anywhere else would be preferable.

It just seemed there wasn’t much jays activity on realgm, so I wondered if there was another place that had more activity. I’m not complaining about the posters here, they’re usually interesting and knowledgeable. Except for you.

Message boards in general aren't spectacularly busy in the year 2019, and for something as atomized as sports fandom, it's even slower. If you're looking for activity, this appears to be the busiest:
https://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/forums/2-Toronto-Blue-Jays-ForumI know precisely nothing about it, having just discovered it via Google search, but YMMV.
