I do enjoy Boston's inexplicable post-WS hangovers. Run differential of -28 already. We're at -3, for what it's worth.

Boston's saying that Sale's sick, but man...when your $30m a year man suddenly loses four ticks off his fastball, can't find the zone and can't get swings and misses, it won't take long for people to start getting nervy.

Galvis with a great game today. He was everywhere. Love the pickup by Atkins.

Was he “sick” opening day, too?

Small ball may be the bane of analytics, but that game was fun to watch. Imagine, double steals, straight steals of home, back to back to back hits! A nervy ninth. I was following a few US writers on Twitter and they were really into the game in the ninth inning. Was that our World Series win of 2019?

It's certainly fun to watch. The problem is that it's not very effective as a strategy. As a fan of a team, it's hard to hope for them to do these types of things if the overall goal is to win games. Since we suck now anyway and have no expectation of winning - sure, why not have some fun?

I agree on the winning thing, but on the theory that it's better to move forward incrementally than to remain stuck at the starting line, it's not bad. It was really frustrating to watch those games in Cleveland.

We need to bring back squeeze play guy. This would have been his year to shine.

Giles has been the best player on the team this year so I think you may have overreacted.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

It was an overreaction. He gave up a hit and walk to start the 9th inning. Good to see him bounce back.

So... giving at-bats to Socrates Brito is still a thing?
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I still think he'd be better suited as a reliever than a starter.

It’s a good thing having a guy who can go 1st to 3rd on a ball hit like that.
