Multi-inning bullpen role seems like the best place for Pannone. His fastball plays up a bit, and the deception in his delivery is amplified if hitters are seeing him just the once. Could be pretty useful if he can keep getting strikeouts and keep the ball in the park.

Brito got on base today... impressive.

Maybe he'll give Chris Davis a run for his money.

Yuck. Gurriel doing his best Knoblauch impression. That's rough, you think too much instead of everything just being free and easy. Also known as the yips. It's a problem with the soft throw, he's not used to making them while at shorstop you have to air it out all the time with a bit of strength. It's a little similar to catchers throwing it back to pitchers instead of their throw to 2nd base, some get the yips throwin it back to pitches because it's an unnatural throw.

Stroman 0-3 so far. Must be frustrating playing for a team rebuilding and who you know has a hard time scoring runs and who will finish at the bottom of the standings.

Would Brad Miller be worth picking up, Sogard has a good glove but not sure if he'll hit in .600-750 range.

Where will he play in Buffalo? Third, short and 2nd are taken unless they are moving Biggio. Hanson must also be the one put on waivers?

What did Urena do to not get called back up?

Would rather see him up than Sogard

Why send Urena down in the first place?

This really seems like amateur hour - very disappointed with the roster management.

Urena has to remain down for 10 days, so I'm guessing he'll be back in a week or thereabouts. Certainly would have made more sense to simply jettison Hanson or demote Gurriel and keep Urena in the majors in the first place.

Puzzling moves by Atkins.

Also no reason why Vladi should be down right now. They gained that extra year of control on April 12. He's hitting well in AAA. Bring him up ffs!

I can't take anymore of Drury at 3rd. :banghead:

If he stays down and has even the most minor injury they can milk, they will save a tens of millions of dollars. "Hey Vlad, any soreness in your oblique? Yeah? OK maybe another 2 weeks on the shelf, we want to be careful".

I can almost see Shatkins going full Tonya Harding on Vladdy to delay him futher... this is ridiculous.

No, I don't think it's that. They have his extra year. It's likely down to pick the most advantageous promotion date. There are rumbling in the media about the San Francisco series at the RC next week. (However, I am cynical enough to think Rogers wouldn't want a debut game to conflict with a Leafs playoff game, so let's see if they wait until they can identify a non-playoff day or night).

I'd be pretty surprised if they left him down through his Super 2 date, which is still over a month away.

The Oakland series would be my guess; it's a weekend set, and the Raptors don't play on that Friday (Leafs might play a 2nd rounder if they get that far, though I don't believe so).
