Brito was overmatched, like Gift Ngoepe last season.

Pillar trade all that is left is De Paula,who had some good seasons in the minors before this year, but has an era of 7.16 in Lansing right now.

FINALLY Brito is gone! Took way too long to DFA him. Happy to see Davis get the call. He's off to a hot start in Buffalo. Hope it caries over with the Jays.

Point of order: Brito actually didn't come from that deal. Happened around the same time, but we traded Rodrigo Orozco for Brito; the third (actual human) piece in the Pillar deal was Derek Law, who is still kicking around and making unusual faces.

Also, before someone says WE TRADED A PROSPECT FOR BRITO!?: Rodrigo Orozco is probably a lovely human being, but he's also a slap-hitting overage OF who doesn't do a baseball thing that makes you say 'Hey, that man does that baseball thing nicely! I like the baseball things that baseball man does!'

A little better not facing the Twins.

Vladdy still struggling.. pitching tight to him hasn't helped his cause but at some point, he's got to make some/any sort of adjustment.. I won't be surprised if some of the stat gurus on this site point to advanced stats that somehow favor him but he's got to start producing..

While it hadn't been resulting in hits, it's worth noting that most of Vlad's peripherals have been improving. His swinging strike rate has dropped significantly, his K rate is dropping, and his contact rate on pitches in the zone has jumped.
