Probably unlikely either are high impact mlb players. But there’s a chance so I like this deal

Impressive numbers for Gonzalez in A- ball, especially for a 19-year old. He's listed as 5-10 on BBRef, so no doubt many scouts will have already written him off as a starter.

His peripherals are great though. He's a good return for Sogard by himself - Taylor is the throw-in.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Curious, why did we have to wait a month to find out the return? Was it because of the roster expansion that happens now?

No, nothing to do with the roster expansion that I can see. Taylor, I believe, will be exposed to the Rule 5 draft if the Jays don't put him on the 40 man roster prior to the draft deadline. He hasn't pitched since the end of May, so that may deter a team from selecting him.

Here's a bit more on Taylor. Given that he was a Southern League all-star - and certainly promote-able - when he went on the shelf, and at the least profiles as a solid reliever, it will be interesting to see if they expose him to the draft. The Jays have so much pitching mediocrity on the 40 man roster, there will be some interesting decisions this fall about whom to protect, and the risks of exposing certain players to the draft.
