I wonder what it would take to get Grichuk going a month sooner.

I’m listening on the radio and Chris Leroux is really enjoyable to listen to.

Lost in the performance of the offense is the bit where the pitching staff has been weirdly competent...I had expected a lot of 8-7 losses. Instead, in the previous 15 games they've allowed 3.7 runs/game with reasonable-enough components, and that's not bad even when considering the seven games against Baltimore/KC. And it's downright shocking when at least once a game someone takes the mound that I'm not entirely sure is a professional baseball player.

Grichuk is the Terminator...he's at his most dangerous right after you've concluded that he's dead for good this time.

It's utterly mental. I mean, you can get fluctuations in BABIP, some players are genuinely slow starters, whatever...but he's consistently terrible through at least the first half of the season, before going on a tear late. This is four years in a row where he was posting trash numbers into at least mid-July. Here's the latest date where he had a sub-.700 OPS, and the season end number:
2016: July 31st. Finished year at .769.
2017: July 21st. Finished at .758.
2018: July 14th. Finished at .803.
2019: July 31st. Currently .752.

I think we can safely rule out the ignominy of 100 losses. With 37 games left, the team needs to win at least 11 games (~30% win rate) to avoid that fate.
They've actually been playing much better ball recently, to the point where 70 wins isn't totally out of the question. Probably a stretch though with this rotation and the matchups the rest of the way - would need to go 18 wins and 19 losses to close it out.

Also helps to play trash teams, though they did split against yanks, so there is some sprinkle success, but winning 2 out of 3 against texas or kc, or Baltimore, isn't really anything to sing about.

Am looking forward to our next series, where we're expected to face Kershaw+, maybe even Ryu. With the top 4 of our order seeimgly being above average, the rest of our lineup only has to average for our team to be a top offensive club.
Edit: Seems right now it will be Kershaw,Buehler and Maeda.

Baserunning mistake by Bichette, this is the time to make them.

You can see why the team wanted Bichette to use his two-strike swing all the time. He's obviously proven very adept with the leg kick as well, but the two-strike swing is so mechanically simple and generates easy power.
