Post#1 » by BigLeagueChew » Fri Aug 23, 2019 11:54 pm

Gary Sheffield's nephew starts tonight for the Mariners.

The Mariners' No. 9 prospect will make his long-awaited return in the series opener vs. the Blue Jays. Sheffield, who'll be taking Yusei Kikuchi's turn in the rotation this time around, is 7-9 with a 4.13 ERA between Double- and Triple-A this season.

Fisher bats 2nd tonight against the lefty.

Vlad Jr .282/.356/.477/.352 woba /121 wrc+ around the 400 PA mark

Bichette .320/.364/.650/.413 wOBA /162 wrc+ around the 100 PA mark

I like his and others approach with 2 strikes on them, seems like they're comfortable in that situation and we didn't have many hitters like that the last playoff run. Plus it would keep the people that complained about us hitting home runs all the time happy for a few more games.

Already looking for one online, have only found a nameless and numberless one for $99.

All white with light grey letters? I'd consider buying one for that price. These uniforms are stylish as a motherfrrucker.

I'm continually disappointed that players don't take the opportunity presented by the Players' Weekend and go to maximum stupid. 95% of sports nicknames are bad, but Vlad walking out with a jersey that reads "OH LAWD HE COMIN'"? That's worth having the event.

Draft position isn't everything, but if we're going to lose three games over the remainder of the year, these are the three games to lose. The secondary benefit of a deep draft is that you have a bit of extra leverage if your guy is willing to sign as a 5th pick with 8th pick money, because the bonus curve is fairly steep at the top.

Bo seems to have figured out the whole "has major power but tends to hit the ball oppo/on the ground" thing.

These Seattle series are always so fun.

That said, a loss here would be huge!

Toronto Stormtroopers taking care of business in Seattle.

Seriously - did whoever designed those uniforms never watch Star Wars? Or maybe that's what they're going for...
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

It's a bit nutty that Bo has only walked 5 times.

I think it’s 7, but fair enough. I think that and his strike outs will get sorted out over time.

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
