If it really is his favorite food, then he's at the right North American city as even though LA has more Koreans, its not really a popular dish there because its always hot there and pork bone soup is best on cold nights.

Damn. I don't regret leaving Toronto 7 years ago at all...except now.

The fact that Roark is getting $12m per season, Ryu's $20m per year is a bargain.

they weren't asked questions about this which was disappointing. Atkins did mention something along the lines of it being hard to upgrade the rotation at this point, though.

It's only a bargain if he pitches ~150+ IP, which is a big question mark. Roark has been an iron man by comparison the last 4 years.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

LOL It helps that its actually warmer in Toronto than it is in Seoul, Korea..though the time they will spent in Toronto will mostly be in the warm summer. Great idea as gift as he's obviously gonna wear it a lot back home.

Yup. And Roark is also signed for 2 years as opposed to 4.

There is minimal risk in the Roark contract compared to the Ryu deal.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

False. He can pitch a lot less than 150 IP per season for this to be a deal. You're forgetting that Ryu is miles better than Roark.

Do you honestly think that he forgot that?

Roark has had 30+ starts 5/6 seasons and went back and forth between the rotation and the pen the 6th season. Meanwhile Ryu only pitched 4 innings over 2 full seasons at one point during that span. He is and will always be an injury risk.

So no, calling Roark a relative Ironman is definitely not false because he is.

Scott Boras on Hyun-jin Ryu's decision to be a Blue Jay

The super agent comments on why he & Hyun-jin Ryu felt the Blue Jays were a good fit, Toronto's collection of impressive young talent, if there was concerns about Ryu jumping from the NL to the AL, and why the amount of signings this offseason happened quicker than last year.
