New Blue Jays unis coming (updated)...

Post#1 » by Raptors Realtor » Mon Jan 13, 2020 7:46 pm

It appears the Jays are re-introducing powder blue into their colour scheme. I like the old powder blue unis, however wouldn't use them in place of their current home & aways. With that said, my least favourite are the grey jerseys, really like the home whites & the navy blue jersey, ... Anyone have any insight on whether they'll be a permanent alternate or a full on replacement of one of their current uni(s)?

Perhaps a buttoned version of this with the jays logo moved to the side like our regular blue and whites.

Please do not change the uniforms or logo. Beeston did an amazing job on them in 2013 and they are the best in the league. Just leave it alone.

If they want to add a powder blue jersey fine, but just make it for only 10 games a year.

Agreed. The classic whites and greys with the original logo are classics that should never have been tampered with in the first place. If they want to bring back the baby blues every now and again, no problem.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

They're just alternates. Our everyday uniforms will remain.

It's been discussed in the other thread (can't remember which one) and they teased it in a tweet. It's nothing major, just a little bit of nostalgia once a month or something.

Thanks. I hope you are right.

Since Nike took over this year, I think it was more them coming to the table with this idea than Rogers/Atkins proposing it.

Blue jays gear will continue to sell outrageous amounts of $$$$

The darker lettering pops pretty nicely.

I'm not a fan of the cap with the powder blue brim, prefer the previous primary logo, and dislike the ankle section of the socks - would have preferred the navy blue ran all the way down. Also, not sure why they decided to replace the previous red with a darker shade of red.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

They messed this up by doing too much—way too much—when all that was required was a simple throwback jersey.

Oh, well.

Only thing i don't like is the cap i think it looks awful.

Navy blue matte helmet looks good IMO.

Ya. I kinda like them and think they will look better on the field/in person. But definitely less traditional. Kind of video-gamey. A perfect match for our plastic grass! lol

I like the idea of a powder blue jersey, but it's clear it should be an alternate. Like a sunday jersey or something.

Don't like the logo change and don't like going away from the white pants and the navy jerseys.

I get wanting a different look for this era but there was no need for the dramatic change. The moment they went back to the OG logo. it was loved by everyone.
