Jeez, some tough opposing pitchers. And at Yankee Stadium. Hopefully our pitchers can keep it close.

Could Ryu pitch the final game against Tanaka?

Apparently Derek Fisher is not a capable Little League outfielder, let alone Major League outfielder.

Fisher has baseballphobia.

Martin can play the outfield. Not sure if he’ll end up there, but it would make sense.

Me, yesterday:
His next plate appearance.
I don't think that it's a stretch to suggest that I am the greatest hitting coach the Jays have ever had.
- Try to hit the ball up the middle. Vlad's power is such that he really, really doesn't need to try to pull everything (see: cutting himself off on pitches on the inner half). Wait back a shade more and step and swing toward center
[...]
He tends to hit soft flies oppo, and hit pull-side grounders, but he crunches the ball gap-to-gap. Still could use a little more loft, but there's nothing wrong with a 95mph liner, either. So, like, set up to do that.
His next plate appearance.

**** your asterisk.

I'm surprised Fisher wasn't yanked after those 2 plays... is he usually this bad?

I don't think I've ever seen a worse outfielder than Derek Fisher defensively and I've seen Adam Lind in LF.

A healthyish NYY team blows us out of the water. Hope we somehow get 1 this series and the Ms/Tigers/Os lose.

Yeah, we're a much-improved team, but we're not yet a *good* team. We might sneak second in the division because baseball is weird and we're a bit winnery, but it's difficult to argue against the Yankees being the better team by a comfortable distance.
**** your asterisk.

Can Montoyo not just play our best 9 fielders? We have enough hitting regardless.
