9 walks in 8 IP, and only two runs surrendered. There's living dangerously, and then there's repeatedly setting yourself on fire in an explosives factory.

If anyone is curious, the MLB record for most runners stranded in a 9 inning game is 20. The Royals are at 8 through three innings.

That is absurdly high.

That's for one team, or for the entire game?

I hope they break it. If there's anyone who deserves it after such winneriness they do.

I shouldn't be confident about a pitcher who gives up 6 walks in under 4 innings but having Robbie Ray out there makes me feel better about things, and I don't have to explain that if I don't want to.

Most baserunners without a run is also really high...20 overall, 19 in a nine-inning game:

Still a lot of work to do. Those are some bleak-ass boxscores, most being 1-0.

Just say he’s not Tanner Roark.

Marcus and Randy, don't you understand that he's trying to put a couple guys on? Now he's going to have to walk a couple dudes.

Just your standard 6 BB, 4 H shutout through 5 IP from Ray. Royals fans must be pissed.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Nice to see we're continuing to let the Royals think they have a chance.

That's no way to strand a runner, Al.

Panik being on the roster over Espinal is especially questionable on a team that can’t field.

Jay Bruce managed 2.9 fWAR over the final eight years of his career, which involved over 3200 plate appearances. He was paid over $86m during that span.

Congrats, Jay!

Congrats, Jay!

Now say what Pujols did. Bet the Angels wish he retired in 2015.
