I hate making GTs because I have an atrocious record, but here we are.

Kay getting squeezed badly in the first inning here.

Disgraceful umpiring in the 1st inning, both on the first base call and the strike calls. Cost Kay at least 10 pitches.

It feels like we’re always facing a star pitcher.

Buck just said “the covid” again.

Man, Semien/Bichette/Vlad/Teo/Grichuk has to be the best top 5 in baseball so far this season.

Encouraged to see Vlad run down the line like that.

Good idea in theory, but Simeon signed a 1 year deal for a reason, so that he could rebuild his value after a terrible 2020 season. There’s zero reason for him to sign an extension now when he’s doing just that. And after the season, he’ll solicit offers from as many teams as possible.

It feels like Vlad focuses in more against the great pitchers (Scherzer, Cole, Glasnow). He can hit anybody.

Yeah, there's no way he doesn't test FA. I'm just hoping that the crowded IF market means that we might be able to bring him back at a decent price (if that is something FO decides to do).

The Jays have had some great hitters but nobody with this type of potential. So complete in every facet.

I'm looking at the active roster and have no idea how this team plans to get through 9 innings of this game with what they have available.

Yeah, he does, I think. They actually mentioned the other day that he craves the matchups vs great pitchers.

In other news, he currently leads baseball in WAR.

Not necessarily. If he keeps this up for another month it’s possible he can get a good extension from the Jays. Not many guys were getting big contracts last offseason. I don’t think Semien had any long term offers in the neighborhood of what he thought he was worth. Also, there’s the chance he really feels at home with the jays. Who knows.
