Richards couldn't be any more lucky to escape with 1 run allowed there. He was absolutely awful that inning.

Some poor luck that inning.

Had Richards on the ropes there and let him off the hook. Springer can't get back soon enough...

We let Richards get back to the dugout with his head and give Verdugo 3rd base to top it off.

Stripling pitching well to save that run at least.

Why can't Bo just approach every AB like he has 2 strikes.

"Lemme bounce a 3-2 curve 12 feet in front of home plate" is both a sign of respect to Vlad and the only rational choice.

He'd have less power then, but he'd probably hit like .330.

Richards cleverly playing to the home stadium by giving up a bunch of rocket liners to right handed hitters.

Not sure I've seen a pitcher pitch worse and still be in the game with 3 runs. He's getting annihilated.

I don't want to get too crazy about cause-and-effect, but Strip Rossling has a 0.95 ERA with very good components since he realized that he was announcing his pitches with semaphore or whatever.

Wouldn't that be more ideal from your number 2 hitter in front of Vlad and Teo? And he would still probably hit 20 hrs. .330 with 20HR's sounds a lot like Michael Brantley.

Garrett Richards has a slider that just kinda hangs there, and a curveball with 8 feet of break that never comes within two miles of the strike zone, and I'm perplexed that he's been okay this season.

The jinx is strong in this one.

Well ideally he would just stop taking massive hacks at basically any pitch thrown to him early in counts and just be more selective. Best of both worlds. He's not there yet though, but I think he has the talent to do so.

Watching the Red Sox feed and they were jokingly referring to Richards as the Magician or Magic Man. Seems like hes been working his way out of trouble a lot this year.

The average exit velocity for this game is effectively the speed of light.
