Remember when the players were saying how they'd be better than the Yankees - and by extension, the best team in the East - in the spring? It's turns out they were right about one of those things.

A combination of injuries and idiotic managing have the team in 3rd place, 8.5 games out of 1st and 5.5 back of Boston for 2nd. The goal should be to take back 2nd place and hold a wildcard spot before the deadline.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

What an epic series thread!

Who pitches in place of Matz in this series?

Ryu's command is off. Hopefully he gets back on track.

It feels like Sanchez crushes this team and sucks against everyone else.

Ryu slippage.

The only thing nice about that home run is that Gibbons shut Buck up mid-sentence lol.

He's not the best pitcher in baseball for the better part of a decade, no. Still very good, though.

It's going to be fun for a while playing the "bad night or no sticky stuff" game. Jordan Montgomery's control is his calling card...tonight, not so much.

I greatly prefer the Semien/Espinal left side of the infield defensively to Bichette/Biggio.

The sheer disappointment in the crowd's tone when the Jays do something positive is oddly satisfying.

I don't particularly like it when it gets the Yankees calls though (and it seems to have gotten them a few at the plate already tonight).

It was a fun game while it lasted for 6 innings, but the bullpen is in now. We need to get back to those 7 inning DH games again.

The Yankees are going to be blowing us out by the time this bullpen is through with this game.
