Edit: Jays already up 6 and polo007 hasn't created the new game thread yet - hopefully me starting the thread doesn't curse the series.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Need to win these easy games at all costs if we're gonna make a run. Good start tonight.

Looks like we're okay so far at least.

What a way to open the first game of the series.

Did they say why Springer isn't playing? That makes me nervous.

They said it's an off day, but why would anybody believe them at this point.

Glad we're not the Baltimore Orioles. What an awful team. Must drive their fans nuts with all that losing every year.

Jays are 15 and 8 when McGuire catches. Reese better be seeing a lot more action the rest of the season, even when Danny comes back. Nice win! Let's keep this going.

The bigger question is who will be the 2 catchers on the roster when all 3 get healthy? It should be Kirk and McGuire, but I’m not sure how many options Jansen has left which could make Kirk the easier choice.

Jays have the freaking MVP on their team and for some reason it's Alek Manoah's starts that get me the most excited.

Gurriel knows the easiest way to get the SP out of the game isn't pitch count. You just hit the pitcher.

Pat: there’s something about the Baltimore Orioles that brings out the best in Randall Grichuk.

I’m stumped Pat, what is it?
