Buck Martinez calls all his games from home in Florida and has not been in Toronto since pre-pandemic.

In today’s Sun, Steve Simmons says that’s because Buck Martinez is not vaccinated. If this is true, it will be interesting what the Jays do with Buck next season.

Given that he's 72, that's surprising

Does anyone know if Buck has been to Toronto to call a game? I can’t recall and I don’t trust much of what Steve Simmons says.

Does anyone else want to see Bo lead off, even when Springer's in the lineup? I know you hate the idea of Springer batting 9th, how about 5th....

Bichette
Semien
Guerrero Jr
Hernandez
Spiringer (DH)
Gurriel Jr
Kirk
3rd Baseman
Grichuk

why though? the jays offense just had one of the most dominant 2-week periods in LEAGUE HISTORY and are 15-3 in their last 18 lol. lineup construction (who is in the lineup each day is a different story altogether) is the least of our worries with our manager right now, thankfully. nevermind the fact that george is still raking to the tune of a 140 wRC+ which is the 2nd best mark on the team (almost all of which have come from the leadoff spot) as you would expect from a player of his calibre. really really don't understand what you're trying to accomplish by moving him around the order.

To me it just seems like Springer is putting to much pressure on himself when he leads off. Maybe it's because he's missed almost 60% of the games.

I'm just saying put him lower in the order, take some pressure off him.

OR, bat him 9th, and really take the pressure off because he'll have Bichette batting after him.

I just think there should be a "leadoff" type batter 9th. They'll get the most information from all 8 batters before him, and it'll set table for the second time through the lineup.

Next season when he's healthy, put him back at the top of the lineup.

I hope i'm wrong though, and we just keep rolling.

what is leading you to believe that he is "putting too much pressure on himself"? because i mean, it can't be his numbers, which are all in line with his career averages.

and no comment on the continued and truly bizarre suggestion to have george springer bat 9th.

It was 100% the right decision to stay on third, but man, I'd have loved it if Semien had stretched that into an RBI double for Vladdy.

NICE! Going 1st to 3rd with 2 outs actually resulted in a run there! Well done, Georgey!

Would have liked to have seen Ray in the 8th here and effectively wrap the game up.

Might want to get Mayza and Romano in the game unless we want to completely blow this.

DeGroom won back to back awards with 10 and 11 wins.
