I just don't get it?
He's a great lefty bat, but the second last thing the Jays need is another 1B.

Losing Simien hurts. He protected the lineup and took pressure off Vlady, Springer, Bo.
He's a lefty too which is a bonus.
Plan is likely to platoon vlady and freddie 1b / DH all year. It makes sense
Then Grab a defensive 3B

Platooning Vlade and Freddie means we don't have the DH slot for rest days, or for throwing in Kirk/Moreno when they're not behind the plate.
Don't get me wrong, Freddie would be a great addition to the lineup. It just seems like an expensive move for a less than ideal fit.

Just seems weird. There are teams with a greater need for him than us.

The Schwarber fit is also a bit weird to me also. I like both players (pending what kind of contracts they may get), but the fit with us is...interesting to say the least.
That being said...this is exciting! Moves! Moves! Moves!

You have two of the best hitters in the majors. They should be in your lineup every day. Wouldnt be too concerned with that.

Love it when a Toronto team is in the mix for a big named player. Let's hope we land both. It'll take the sting out of losing Simien.

Re: Freddie Freeman to Jays (Rumours only)
He's a great lefty bat, but where would he play? And do we want to fork out a huge sum to a guy starting his age 32 year? I'm not seeing a great fit.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
