I guess we know why Kirby Snead was traded.

I’m triple Vaxxed. Tinnitus went crazy. Narrative not so simple.

Edit:I know, I know, suck it up buttercup.

Edit: What was the VAX created for? Alpha? Beta? Delta? Omicron 1? Omicron 2? The VAX no longer matches.

Anyway, it’s a pandemic of the vaccinated now. Probably always was. You do you.

Statistically, it's still a pandemic of the unvaccinated in terms of who ends up requiring medical care. A new vaccination targeting Omicron and subvariants is probably necessary (and coming) though, given that it appears to have won the war against other variants, and to date certain vaccine-targetable hallmarks of Omicron seem fairly durable.

A rational argument to get vaccinated. All carrot. No stick. Applicable in most cases.

Jon Heyman, tweeted yesterday that two key members of the Yankees had two days to get vaccinated or they wouldn't qualify for the first series in Toronto at the beginning of May.

Tanner Houck said today he is unvaxxed, my choice, etc etc. So he'll be out for the Sox, as is Chris Sale apparently and according to some reports, JD Martinez as well.

Alex Cora said several members of the Red Sox won't make the trip to Toronto. Also, today, catcher Kevin Plawecki, who is vaccinated, tested positive and went into Covid protocols.

Add Christian Vasquez to the Covid IL. Don’t know his vaccination status.

What do you get out of singling out these players?

The players aren't being singled out. They are being treated exactly the same as any other unvaccinated traveler.

Huh? They're being discussed and named because it's relevant to the Jays' season.

... About that...

Vaccine still stops you from getting seriously ill/hospitalized. The next generation would be effective omicorn and it's variations, but like the flu
It'll probably be a yearly shot.

Since omicron it's far less effective vs preventing.

You do you..but if you don't know what you're talking about don't. Just don't.

Yeah, the vaccination no longer offers the same level of front-line antibody defense, but still offers pretty durable T-cell defense. So it's no longer particularly effective at preventing you from getting infected, but it's still pretty effective at keeping you from getting really sick.

We'll definitely need an updated version of the vaccination, and probably regular boosters, but the current vaccination is still very valuable (as evidenced by seeing what has happened in China and some other parts of SE Asia that dodged the first few waves of the virus but had very low vax rates, and now have a massive problem on their hands).

Twins will apparently be “a handful” of players short for their series here next weekend.

I’m guessing at least one of the former Yankees is on that list. Remember, we heard last year the Yankees had several unvaccinated players. Then when they visited Toronto they were without no one.
