SAS is very good at what he does. I am not sure how he could practically change baseball to remove intentional walks though. Make catchers crouch behind the plate? Allow the batter to choose whether or not they want to accept a walk after 4 balls? That could definitely lead to some hilarious situations.

Also, intentional walks are already becoming somewhat rare, and will be more rare now that pitchers do not hit. There are .167 intentional walks per game played to date in 2022. In 1975, it was .692. You aren't going to eliminate pitching around guys, so what advantage is to be had by making a team throw four eye-high fastballs rather than an IBB?

I don't recall (although maybe I've missed it, I don't follow him that closely) him having that same energy about take fouls at the end of basketball games.

Justin Verlander currently has an ERA of 0.69, and has allowed *1* earned run in his two starts this season.

One of those starts was a loss.

Wow, never complaining about run support for our team again.

Verlander has only given up 2 XBH in his first two starts. But that's because he hasn't faced Tapia yet.

we're 25 minutes into arash madani's stint as the studio host and i feel like it's game 6 of the world series and not in a good way.

"stripling. verlander. head-to-head. here. we. go."

yes, the pitching duel we have all been longing for all season.

He also just suggested that the Jays would love for Ross Stripling to go four innings, and go through the lineup twice. That's...somewhat unlikely. Possible, he'd just have to put a lot of runners on base, which probably isn't what the coaching staff is aiming for.

It was an out, but 105.8 mph off the bat from Tapia. This is actually starting to become a thing.

Tapia batting first and Zach Collins batting 5th. If you'd told me that would be the lineup 14 games in at the start of the season, I'd have said the team was off to a disastrous start.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I’ll never understand why some guys take a peek towards the plate on a straight steal.
