Wanna grab first place from these guys despite are brutal schedule so far. Hopefully we run out our serious lineups this week save the AAAA/Spring Training Heineman lineups for the Guardians games lmao

Excited for this. Yanks have been on a winning streak that put them in 1st place. Time to put these guys back to earth.

Wish Teoscar was in this series.

Yankees have been playing minor league competition for so long that tonight will be a reality check for them. Time to take back first place from these frauds.

I realize it's early and the team is a little banged up but the offense really needs to pick it up.

Hitting the ball quite hard off of Montgomery, not much reward. Chapman appeases the BABIP gods with a flare instead.

Tied up. Would be great to see the bats heat up this series.

The funniest part of Tapia turning from an all-contact, soft grounder-hitting speed monster into a relatively-well-hit-fly-ball guy with a high-ish K rate is that this might be the worst possible season to be that guy. Last year, Tapia might actually be fairly useful; those balls would carry. With the squishy 2022 ball, not so much.

Going into tonight, the Tap Man has an xBA of .304 and xSLG of .489. Crazy.

Yeah, though I'm curious whether we're going to see real deviations from those expected numbers (derived from past seasons) given that they replaced the rubber ball with a foam one. Feel like out-and-out power hitters will still do their damage, as will line drive hitters (which is why I expect Bo to be fine), but the guys who'll get punished the most are launch angle darlings trying to be 2019 Eric Sogard.

Like Tapia: the numbers say that he's hitting the ball welll enough that he ought to be getting results, but most of them are dying harmlessly 15 feet short of the track.

This is all set up for us to score in the bottom of the 8th to produce another one-run win.

Chapman didn't get the memo that he was meant to bloop one over the infield there. Our offense doesn't seem to do so hot when we hit the ball hard.

I really wish that we had pitchers who we could trust for two innings. We're burning through an already exhausted bullpen.
