Kikuchi gets through the first inning. Praise the Lord.

If Kikuchi has another bad outing today and is pulled after 3 innings or so, he should be removed from the Starting Rotation and used out of the Bullpen until he can hopefully turn it around. That 16 million Shapiro/Atkins spent on him for this year, could have bought us 2 Very Good Relievers for our Bullpen which we sorely need right now. Hoping Kikuchi can be decent and not terrible, like his last 7 Straight Starts. A terrible free agent signing by Shapiro/Atkins who could have used that 16 million to upgrade the Bullpen, which was the most pressing need and was not significantly addressed. Now they have to pay more of a premium come deadline time.

I'm an... online viewer , so to speak...
The game wasn't showing up where it usually is, but I found it when I googled to try to find out the score.

Kikuchi is fun to watch when he forces his fastball early, then uses his alt pitches.

Matt Chapman helping out Kikuchi with two great defensive plays to finish the 6th. It is an absolute pleasure to watch him play defense day in and day out. Arguably the best defensive third baseman in MLB.

Chapman is having a great defensive game tonight. I hope he gets better luck at the plate.
